Services are taking on an increasingly important role at ThyssenKrupp Stainless. The company aims to compete on the market not just as a supplier of materials but as a genuine service provider, offering customers solutions for a wide range of applications together with product-support services including diverse forms of processing. Constant expansion and optimization of our global network of distribution and service centers means that ThyssenKrupp Stainless companies operate close to customers.
The overall share of services in the sales of ThyssenKrupp Stainless AG is to be steadily increased. The aim is to strengthen customer retention and increase value added and so improve margins. This is the focus of numerous measures within the Stainless group.
Our companies are increasingly concentrating on high-end products, special finishes and high-quality, customized service, offering a wide range of processing and finishing options with optimum delivery performance. For instance, EBOR Edelstahl GmbH in Sachsenheim near Stuttgart, a subsidiary of ThyssenKrupp Nirosta, is expanding its capacities for the production of high-quality polished and brushed finishes as well as its shearing and slitting capacities for the manufacture of sheets in various sizes. At ThyssenKrupp Acciai Speciali Terni the group operates a modern coil painting line which applies a transparent “SilverIce UV” coating to stainless steel strip. This coating makes stainless steel surfaces less sensitive to fingerprints, more resistant to scratches and even easier to clean. ThyssenKrupp Stainless International is gradually expanding its global network of service centers, most recently by opening new bases in Poland and the United Kingdom.
